Abstract

This article provides a comparative analysis of speech etiquette in the English and Uzbek languages, focusing on cultural backgrounds, linguistic features, politeness strategies, communication styles, and challenges in cross-cultural communication. It explores how cultural values, social norms, and historical contexts shape speech norms, highlighting differences in politeness markers, address forms, nonverbal cues, and face-saving strategies in diverse cultural settings.
