This article provides a detailed analysis of the educational, educational upbringing, and developmental functions of mother tongue lessons. The educational function involves imparting knowledge and developing language skills among students through the mother tongue. The upbringing function serves to nurture national culture, moral values, national consciousness, and patriotism in students. The developmental function is aimed at enhancing students’ thinking abilities, creativity, speech culture, and communicative competence. The article also discusses the content and methodology of mother tongue lessons and modern pedagogical approaches for effectively implementing these functions. Furthermore, it highlights the role of the mother tongue subject in the education system and its contribution to improving overall education quality.
