Abstract

This article explores the role of the mother tongue subject in the primary education system, emphasizing its importance in developing students’ thinking abilities, speech culture, and skills in both written and oral expression. Through mother tongue lessons, students acquire strong literacy skills, logical thinking, and the ability to express their thoughts freely. The article also discusses the main objectives of teaching the mother tongue, methodological foundations for effective instruction, and modern educational approaches. The topic is analyzed in the context of national educational standards and presidential decrees.
