Abstract

This study is meant to investigate how English Studies majors who have been accepted in an outstanding course of study for the development of pragmatic competence use and interact with social networks. Facebook and Youtube were the most popular social networks for improving pragmatics. On social media, the most prevalent pragmatics knowledge was regarding speech actions, kindness, and conversational implication. The study's findings were recommended to assist English language learners in comprehending the context of their utterances, communicating clearly to their audience, and overcoming the obstacle of ambiguity resulting from utterance style, position, and frequency.
