Abstract

Self-directed learning (SDL) is vital for students in distance education environments, where they must take responsibility for their own learning process. This article examines the key factors influencing SDL, such as motivation, digital literacy, self-regulation, peer interaction, and feedback. It discusses how these factors interact to foster SDL in online education. By understanding these elements, educators can design more effective learning environments that promote student autonomy and success.
